La scorsa settimana, 700 tra giornalisti, blogger, ricercatori, studenti e policy-maker di oltre 40 Paesi africani hanno preso parte a una tre giorni di discussioni, dibattiti e formazione nel corso della dodicesima edizione della conferenza Highway Africa [in] a Grahamstown, in South Africa. Highway Africa è la conferenza più importante dedicata a per giornalisti e addetti ai lavori del continente. Il tema di quest'anno era “Citizen Journalism, Journalism for Citizens”.
La conferenza viene organizzata dalla Scuola di Giornalismo della Rhodes University [in] con il sostegno di Absa, Telkom, Media Development and Diversity Agency, South African Broadcasting Corporation, Dipartimento delle Comunicazioni e MTN [multinazionale di telecomunicazioni attiva in 21 Paesi di Africa e Medio Oriente].
