My interest is officially piqued. Which airline will be the next to announce in-flight wi-fi via Aircell ’s Gogo service, available on a few American Airlines routes and coming soon to Delta? An announcement is expected in the coming days, according to some news sources . Other sources are speculating that the mystery airline is Air Canada. Oh the suspense!

Do consumer loyalty programs make sense or is it generally better to pick hotels and flights based on price and convenience? My boss and I travel together on business about 12-15 times per year and all but one or two trips per year are domestic. My boss is tied to one airline (American Airlines, ugh) and has 2-3 preferred hotel chains that he will go out of his way to patronize, often at a price premium. I prefer to travel on whichever airline is most direct and best for our schedule at ... more

Every once in a while, I run across someone obsessed with Jelly Belly jelly beans, that special kind of person with staunch opinions on the merits of the highly controversial popcorn flavor, someone who can discern a blueberry bean from the strikingly similarly-hued plum bean in a moment’s notice, someone who refers to their assortment of beans as a “collection.” This post goes out to anyone for whom the above rings true. In addition to its first-come, first-served... more

You don’t need us to tell you that paying in dollars while staying in a European hotel translates into a good deal for U.S. travelers this summer. But you may need us to tell you where to find such a deal: The WordHotels Stay in Europe - Pay in Dollars promo, good through August 31, 2008, allows visitors to Europe to pay published euro rates with dollars, which means a hefty savings. Some of the 52+ participating hotels include Prague’s Imperial Hotel (pictured above... more
September Flight Cuts Show Midwest Means Business
From: blog.kayak.com
Post Date: 2008-07-21 08:58:29

Yesterday, Midwest Airlines revealed the new, reduced route map and slew of schedule changes it plans to implement on Sept. 8th as part of its larger restructuring effort brought on by high fuel prices and the company’s decision to ground its MD-80 planes. What’s changing? Gone is service to leisure-friendly cities like Ft. Lauderdale and San Diego, as are direct flights from Milwaukee to West Coast cities Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. To keep its core busines... more
