http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/fnc/brit_hume_to_step_down_as_fox_news_anchor_89331.asp?c=rss TVNewswer is reporting that Brit Hume is stepping down as the anchor of "Special Report" later this fall, following the election. In my eyes, Brit is one of the best, if not the best anchor on the FoxNews Channel. I hate to see Brit leave the 6pm slot, but at least it sounds like he’s going to retain some visibility with the network.

Today, Michael Calderone of Politico writes about Brit Hume’s swan song at Fox News. After the election, Mr. Hume, who joined the cable news network during its fledgling days back in 1996, will be significantly cutting back his duties, which currently include anchoring Special Report at 6 p.m., anchoring big political night coverage, and serving as the managing editor of the news division. One fun moment from the piece: ABC News’ Sam Donaldson, who is 74, questions why Mr. Hume, ... more

Is it just me, or is Hume blatantly acting like a man who is about to retire, and therefore is going to do whatever he wants on his last election night? addthis_url = ’http%3A%2F%2Fwww.poliblogger.com%2F%3Fp%3D14414’; addthis_title = ’Brit+Hume’; addthis_pub = ’’;... more

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080521/american_airlines_reductions.html?.v=5 I normally fly Southwest, but for whatever reason Lindsay and I flew American to Austin this week. I didn’t have any major complaints aside from the fact that we spent more time sitting on the plane waiting to taxi than we should have and that the crew didn’t turn the air on for an inordinate amount of time sitting on the blistering tarmac at DFW. Now, I noticed a sign at the check-in counter that American... more

http://www.wizardacademy.com Lindsay and I are spending the week in Austin, Texas at a business seminar. It’s not often that we get away from the farm that we aren’t heading to an ag-related conference, convention, or live broadcast, so in that sense, the trip is somewhat like vacation... Except, of course, that we’re focusing on business more or less the whole time we’re here. Which, considering the fact that we love the business we’re in, the audience we vi... more
