Here they come- like a host of zombies appearing over the horizon... it’s the (gasp!) PROGRESSIVES. They’re comin’ for me. They’re comin’ for you. Well, maybe not. But it sure looks like they’re comin’ for our wallets anyway. . Yesterday, many of the groups that purport to comprise the so-called "progressives" gathered together to build unity and excitement as we get ready to witness the transfer of Congressional power from the Republicans to the Democrats. The progressives eagerly await Pelosi’s "100 Hour Agenda". The rest of us, especially shining stars of the American free marketplace, tremble in fear... The public education campaign involves sending more than 350,000 pieces of mail to 120,000 citizens in Delaware, Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, and Ohi... more
Anybody that knows me knows that I am generally p-o’d at John McCain for whatever cause he happens to be championing. Whether it’s stifling free speech with campaign finance "reform" or seemingly protecting the "rights" of terrorists, I regard him as more harm than good for many of the issues important to me. Many crusades upon which he embarks appear designed for publicity and to distance himself from policies of the Bush administration. . That being said, given the poor polling ... more

I want a freer America, where my rights-- to own ... more

But SUNY administrators are not content to stop the... more
This is my weekly column for today’s Laconia Daily Sun. Exercising the First by Doug Lambert Tag, dodge ball and jihad. At what point will we ban childhood itself? While I’m all in favor of modern innovations like good helmets for children (and adults- if they choose) when bike riding and skiing, more and more lately, the notion of “child safety” just gets plain silly. . Consider the latest playground rules at an elementary school just down in nearby Mass... more
