To my knowledge, this humble blog, St. Joseph’s Vanguard and Our Lady’s Train, has never been nominated for any blog awards, but our friends Amy and Chris have pointed out to us that someone nominated us for the Catholic Blog Awards !
To whomever nominated us, thank you a ton! We are very honored.
It looks like the category we are put in is Best Individual Blog, which means we are competing against the likes of the Illustrious Danielle Bean, Mark Shea’s blog, and many other well-known ones.
Now, I would feel very ashamed if our blog beat out Danielle Bean’s, from whom we have personally received several emails over the years, and who we hold in high esteem, so please vote for her in at least one of the categories that she has been nominated in, and if you must, vote for us in the other one.

With that in mind, I need your help! Would you please consider offering a tradition that works well in your home during the Tri...

As you no doubt heard, Mike Huckabee graciously bowed out of the Republican race after losing Texas and Ohio earlier this week.
As I mentioned previously, we supported his campaign, and I think he has influenced Senator McCain and others positively with his firm stance supporting life, especially the most vulnerable life of the unborn baby.
Senator McCain has many good qualities and is strong on pro-life issues . There is, however, one plank of his pro-life platform that is weak: He supp...

If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on th...
