Speaking of David All, I thought I would go ahead and mention that while his main project, Slatecard fell short of its goal to out raise ActBlue’s first election cycle haul in its own inaugural run they did do a phenomenal job of raising money for the GOP in a very weak year. They [...]... more

Twitter Already Has a Spam Problem
From: blogpi.net

Yesterday, Adam Ostrow at Mashable asked, “Is Twitter About to Have a Big Spam Problem?” Well, I wouldn’t yet call it “big,” but the problem is already here. Ostrow wrote: [L]ately, I’ve been getting an influx of new followers that resemble this character to the right – someone who is following thousands of people, with only a couple hundred following back. In this case, the new follower seems to be a web design studio in Beverly Hills. While I can’t prov... more

Seen this morning on the side of a Metro bus in Northwest Washington: Of course, RealClearPolitics may have started as a hastily-assembled morning news aggregator out of Chicago, but John McIntyre and Tom Bevan’s brand has expanded greatly since first partnering with Time Warner, and now that Forbes has a controlling stake . It’s a bit jarring to see a purely web-based property appearing on a hunk of twentieth-century technology lumbering through the neighborhoo... more

Today Blog P.I. launches a new feature, or what I hope will actually become one: a look at the Top 10 most-edited pages on the English-language Wikipedia for the past week, with an explanation for why each page made the top ten. Some will be obvious to anyone who keeps tabs on current events, so rather than giving a terse “duh” I’ll endeavor to pull a non-obvious detail or amusing factoid from the edit history. This would be completely impossible without WikiRage , an on... more

Once, this new thing called blogosphere reshaped the 2004 presidential campaign. And then, this new thing called YouTube influenced several contests in the 2006 midterms. So what’s next? Could Twitter change the outcome of the 2008 White House race? Probably not just yet, but one thing is clear: What’s said on Twitter does not stay on Twitter. My former Hotline colleague Jonathan Martin reports : An aide to John McCain was suspended from the campaign today for blasting out ... more
