CALDWELL — Canyon County has spent more than $61,000 suing businesses that commissioners accused of employing illegal immigrants, according to documents obtained by the Idaho Press-Tribune. The lawsuit has been dismissed in both the U.S. District Court and, last week, by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. County commissioners have not yet decided if they will ask the full 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to reconsider the case. Share This

JUNEAU A Beaver Dam man accused of driving drunk and injuring three of his passengers will spend time in jail. Wisconsin Court of Appeals Judge Charles Dykmann sentenced Michael J. Lehner, 22, to 140 days in jail during a sentencing hearing Wednesday in Dodge County Circuit Court. A registered sex offender from Fond du Lac is back in court. Ervin Roman Soto, 30 E. 10th St., Apt. A, is out of jail after posting $2,500 bail in a Langlade County case where he is charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child and felony bail jumping. An illegal immigrant attempting to jump the international boundary in Douglas injured his back as he landed on the ground. Douglas paramedics responded at about 8:15 p.m. Thursday and treated the migrant and determined that he needed to be transported to Tucson Medical Center.
