oil pan drain plug still drips

Hey guys, I could use some more help with an issue. I have an oil pan drain plug that is dripping. I replaced it with an OEM plug and plug gasket. It still drips. Now I am wondering if there is some kind of gasket surface on the pan that may have wore down or wore off. Someone recommended Silicone on the threads. Before I go this route I am wondering if there’s a better way. Any other thoughts? Thanks, Josh ... more

84 pickup I’m keeping the front axle and lights, everything else is for sale. The interior is gray, body is white. The bed is in really nice shape for a Toyota in this part of the country. There is a little surface rust in front of the driver wheel well and behind the passenger wheel well, no holes or rot. 22r runs good, no smoke.
