Curly Soft Maple and Black Walnut Segmented Salad Bowl

V-22 II For a pilot friend of mine. Refectory table or dutch pullout I wanted to make a table that would extend out without having to store the leaves in a closet. Doing some research I had found this style of table where the leaves are built in the table itself. I like it because there are no metal slides at all , its all wood. The table is 36 inches wide and 72 inces long. It extends out to be 132 inches long with both leaves pulled out. the leaves are attached to 2 oak slides that ride on the apron. they are inclined so that they rise up 3/4 of an inch. the top table top floats on 6 dowels which are attached to the center section, this allows the upper table top to float up as the leaves pull out. when the leaves pull out all the way the top table top falls down on the slides so that the leaves and the top are at the same height.
