National Football League Blogcast, NFL Blogcast Former Cincinnati Bengals running back Rudi Johnson wasn’t on the free agent market for long. After being released by the Bengals less than 48 hours ago, the Detroit Lions worked him out and signed him to a one-year deal. Rudi replaces Tatum Bell (who was released by Detroit today) as the number two running back on the Lions depth chart behind rookie starter Kevin Smith. My guess is the Lions will split carries between Kevin and Rudi in the popular platoon system. If Rudi can stay healthy, this is potentially a great find for the Lions. Kevin and Rudi should compliment each other well. Source: MLive.com Share This

--The Broncos needed help at tailback, and decided to give Tatum Bell another chance. Bell, a 2004 second-round pick of the Broncos, was out of football since being cut by the Lions and being accused of taking running back Rudi Johnson#39;s bags. Bell said he worried that accusation -- which he claims was a misunderstanding -- might have kept him out of the NFL. I wasn#39;t getting any interest, any calls -- I think it was because of that, Bell said.Read More... ( http://msn.foxsports.co... more

Writer/director/actor Kevin Smith has sent a proposal to Criterion for a Blu-ray release of his film ’Chasing Amy’. The filmmaker always had planned for a super 10-year anniversary release (much like the one completed for his earlier films ’Clerks’ and ’Mallrat’), but Criterion has stated they refuse to double-dip (history, however, may disagree with that statement). So now he is proposing a Blu-ray release with all the added material, meaning it wouldn’... more

Blogcasting the National Football League , Blogcasting the NFL Gary Zimmerman will be inducted as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2008 on August 2. Since the announcement was made back in early February, the media attention has probably been something of a nightmare for Gary. You see, he quit talking to writers and radio and TV people while he was still in Minnesota. I guess he had a bad experience. So when he became a member of the Denver Broncos, he fit r... more
