A few sites are reporting that Jack Thompson has been disbarred.
Personally, I’m happy. Â No, I don’t actually know the guy, but he’s been one of the more vocal and idiotic voices oppsing video games for the last few years. Â He’s usually one of the first to blame any new tragedy on video games. Â He’s been suing companies left and right… Â Harassing anyone who doesn’t agree with him… Â Trying to get all sorts of rediculous things pushed through the court system…
And, ultimately, that’s what got him disbarred. Â Not the fact that he dislikes video games, but the way he went about fighting them. Â He really stretched the legal system until it broke, and the result was his disbarment.
Which means, of course, that he isn’t going to shut up. Â Nor are any of the other people out there who hate video games. Â But it still feels like a victory, at least for now.

Slashdot | A Fond Look at Some Obsolete Ports
C-NET.co.uk has a lighthearted look at ten of the best obsolete ports . The biggest surprise is that C-NET claims Firewire is obsolete, which will come as a surprise to the millions of people worldwide who are still using it, especially in light of the story that Firewire is due to get a massive speed boost ! The same could be said for their claims about SCSI, although from a consumer point of view I guess that’s fairer.
Frankly, IR...

So very glad it is Friday. This has been an insanely long week even though I didn’t work on Monday. I’ve wound up working long days all week long.
Today I had to be in to work early so I could get over to a site survey about an hour away… Had a potentially new client and needed to take a look at their setup so we could tell them what it would cost and whatnot. I showed up to work at 7:00, drove about an hour, and took a look at the place’s “computers̶...

Another long day today… Had to move a server and do some re-wiring at a medical office, which couldn’t be done while they were seeing patients, so we had to wait until 5:00. But one of the doctors got called out on an emergency and we couldn’t actually shut things down until around 6:00. And we didn’t actually finish the job up until 8:00.
I’m freaking exhausted… That’s two long days in a row - 11 hours yesterday and 12 today! And I’ve...

More fallout from my trip to the head office yesterday…
I installed Exchange 2007 SP1 yesterday. It’s been out for a few months now…reports sound pretty positive…and it adds Public Folders back into OWA, which is something they really wanted to have back… So I went ahead and installed it. And everything appeared to be working fine, at least down there.
Today I find out that POP3 broke horribly when I installed SP1, but I didn’t hear about it at the ...
