Finally! A Windows editor I can love!Source: http://www.mikehodgson.com/archives/11Displaying mentions in this article, for full text please visit source. Until recently, I’ve really been at a loss for quickly editing my Ruby scripts in Windows. I use RadRails/Eclipse/RDT for large projects, but it really seems like overkill when I want to make a small edit to a single script. I’ve tried SciTE, Freeride, UltraEdit, and dozens more, and nothing really seemed to have what I was looking for. I wanted Notepad + syntax higlighting + tabbed documents. SciTE came close, but just didn’t “feel” right. Then I stumbled upon ConTEXT. A Freeware text editor by Eden Kirin, this baby fit the bill perfectly. Clutter-free toolbar, tabbed document window, great syntax highlighting (Ruby highlighting is a separate download). It even has user-programmable keys/commands! If you’re stuck in Windows, This is one gem that will make those quick code hacks and HTML tweaks pain-free. Feeds and posts are not affliated with ://URLFAN.
