Things just got a lot more complicated for Mitchell Baker, the Mozilla Foundation's chairman and "chief lizard wrangler." Gone are the days when Microsoft's Internet Explorer was the sole rival for Mozilla's Firefox. A new open-source browser, Google Chrome , has come to town, and it's from the company that provided $66 million of the Mozilla Foundation's $75 million in 2007 revenue . Via our clairvoyant Flummox comes the chat of Flogos , a aggregation that makes machines that accomplish clouds shaped like accumulated logos. The clouds are fabricated from “proprietary surfactant (soap) based cream formulations and lighter-than-air gases such as helium.” Some videos to illustrate: Nintendo’s Kirby (below) and a agglomeration of added samples (on Flogos’ site). —————- Take a quick tour of Google Apps ... more

Ogólnie wszyscy wiemy, że spam nam przeszkadza. Zabiera cenny czas. W firmach - generuje pewne koszty związane z pozbywaniem się go każdego dnia.

Information Overload: Overrated?
From: webworkerdaily.com
Post Date: 2008-07-24 08:00:00

Over at Lifehacker, Gina Trapani has posted an excellent opinion piece taking a second look at the deluge of studies that tell us how much information overload is keeping us from getting work done. Like Lifehacker, we’ve certainly been a cog in the machine that keeps up this drumbeat of studies and solutions, all designed to protect us from the deluge. But we’re also in agreement that the message of overload gets used to promote products more than it does to really get to the ... more

Post Date: 2008-07-25 08:00:00

Google’s GMail has always used the secure https: protocol to protect logins, but it would allow you to switch to an insecure http: session after you were connected. While this can speed things up, it’s potentially a problem for those of us who are on-the-go: unencrypted mail traffic can be snooped on by anyone in WiFi range of your laptop. That’s why its nice to see the new “Browser Connection” item in GMail’s settings; you can use this to force all ... more
How to Be a Memorable Web Worker, the Charlie Chaplin Way
From: webworkerdaily.com

Charlie Chaplin is one of the most iconic performers of our time. He is known across generations and cultures, and his films are still enjoyed today. Is it possible for a web worker to be that memorable? Possibly. But internet technology and culture is still too young for us to say for sure. Still, there are some things that the average web worker can do to be almost as memorable as Chaplin. The first impression counts. The first time people saw Charlie Chaplin’s Tramp char... more
