Real estate mortgage fraud... someone finally got caught
From: afscanhelp.com
Post Date: 2007-02-25 16:15:00

This is what we like to see… people being punished for victimizing homeowners that are in foreclosure. We are contacted daily with people that tell us they were promised a refinance and were told not to make the mortgage payment. If a homeowner is in foreclosure and can no longer afford the mortgage payments then there is little to be done. But if the homeowner can afford the mortgage payments and... more

From: afscanhelp.com
Post Date: 2007-02-25 13:04:00

This article is very disturbing to me but unfortunately it is an all too common occurrence. There are real estate agents across the US that are trying to make money off of an unfortunate situation of foreclosure. It is true in some cases these real estate agents may indeed help the homeowner but the homeowner needs to know all the facts. Just because someone is behind on the mortgage payment does not mean they need to walk away from the house or sell it. The homeowner does have options to f... more

From: afscanhelp.com
Post Date: 2007-02-25 12:48:00

Finally a state legislation that is stepping up in trying to hold some of the mortgage brokers responsible for the bad loans they approve. I have said over and over that the responsibility lies with the mortgage brokers because they ultimately no if the homeowner can afford the mortgage. Far too many brokers or carelessly approving homeowners for mortgages they know they can’t afford and they know they will end up in foreclosure. If we can start holding these brokers accountable the for... more
