I tried to install XP on an ACER Extensa E264, which has a native Linpus Linux but also an original DVD support for Vista and XP. In order to avoid problems with Raid drivers and to save the Linux installation, I provided an additional EISA HD and selected it as first HD. Then I started the installation of XP Pro (genuine) from the CD unit selected as first bootable unit. Hi all, this is my first post on LQ.
I have an Aspire one (8GB, Linpus) and I am wondering how to edit the grub.conf file so I can have the options to.
1. Boot my AA1 to a linpus terminal on start up.
2. Tell grub to boot a distro from an external usb drive.
3. Get grub to display it’s GUI screen on startup.
I’m not even sure if all of the above is possible, but any help would be awesome! I have just re-installed linpus on my AA1 so I am starting with a clean slate.
