The newest political scandal, at least according to the Huffington Post is that not only is John McCain a gambler , but the media has not grilled him on the issue. Author Stephen Rose declares that McCain is close to being a compulsive gambler, and is questioning why no one in the media has confronted him on the issue. Apparently, the idea of betting $100 on a throw of the dice in Mr. Rose’s eyes is easily correlated to the idea of gambling with the lives of American soldiers:
But what most sticks in my craw is the plain proof that the man is close to being a compulsive gambler, certified as such by at least some of our mainstream media, and no one to my knowledge has directly confronted him on the subject.
McCain is a documented craps player. He has been known to play craps on impulse for 14 hours at a stretch.
Matthew Yglesias notes, “The McCains own eleven houses and spent over $200,000 on ‘household staff’ in 2007 so I suppose he can afford tens of...

Two weeks after Election Day, Duval County, Fla, released its write-in voting results. Hillary Clinton was the clear winner. From News4Jax.com :Some voters expecting to vote for Barack Obama or John McCain two weeks ago were surprised to see 11 other names on the ballot. But 736 voters in Duval County weren’t happy with any of the choices and wrote i... more
... and the campaign knew it, since Davis’s salary was paid directly to the firm, which was also collecting $15,000 a month from Freddie Mac for providing, as far as the record shows, no services whatever, in a deal (shakedown) arranged by Davis personally.
Two lessons here:
1. The McCain campaign is a collection of crooks and liars. But that’s sort of dog-bites-man news by now.
2. The wheels are starting to come off; different factions in the campaign are now using the... more

Last night’s Hell to Pay fundraiser for Darcy Burner was a huge success. We started out with a goal of getting Darcy 3,200 donors...and we ended up with 3,643 , raising $ 25,262 ! And that total doesn’t even include the donations made to the entire slate of O2B candidates . Kudos to the community for coming together for one of our own. From DemFromCT: The tracking polls today include one full day (of three) that are post debate, and Obama is now at 50% in 3... more
You’ve seen the news:Capitol Hill sources are telling me that senior McCain people are more than concerned about Palin. The campaign has held a mock debate and a mock press conference; both are being described as "disastrous." One senior McCain aide was quoted as saying, "What are we going to do?" The McCain people want to move this first debate to some later, undetermined date, possibly never. People on the inside are saying the Alaska Governor is "clueless." Even some conservative writer... more

Once again, the most overruled appellate court in the land has come down with a verdict which can only be described as un-constitutional. The lawsuit originated when two employees of the City of Oakland posted a notice on a city bulletin board, after a series of notices from homosexual activists were delivered to them via the city’s e-mail system, bulletin boards and memo distribution system. The bulletin board posting said:

Ron Paul voted against the Patriot Act, opposes the draft, advocates the abolition of the income tax, urges the re-introduction of the gold standard, and stands against initiatives to strip the U.S. of its sovereignty such as CAFTA and the FTAA.
In short, Ron Paul is everything you are looking for in a Presidential candidate; at least from a constitutional point of view. His voting record follows a strict standard of constitutional limits, which is why he is my favorite candidate.
