Samus is looking mighty fine in her phazon suit shown above. No, this isn’t an image from the rumored/mythical game Metroid Dread , but rather a statue by First 4 Figures . That eerie glow effect you see is the work of 25 well-placed LED lights. The statue will be available Q1 2009 and limited to 1500 pieces. So why’s this Metroid Dread? Because the suggested retail price is a dreadful $224.99. Cue the sad trombone , please.

Was Gaming Better in the 90’s? Andrew Sztein gives ten reasons why it is, and I agree with pretty much everything he says. I love old games and most of the time I’d rather play them than newer releases. Older games had to strive to set themselves apart from the others and had to rely more on cool gameplay elements than great graphics.
