On Monday, two of the financial markets biggest players opted out of the game. Lehman Brothers Holdings announced it was filing for Chapter 11 protection in the largest bankruptcy ever and Merrill Lynch & Co . sold itself over to Bank of America for US$50 billion.

U.S. Silver Corporation reports August silver production was 191,400 ounces which is 38% over the second quarter 2008.
The mine averaged 812 tons per day in July, an increase of 240% compared to the 2007 average of 338 tons per day and a 198% increase as compared to 1st quarter 2008 numbers.
