…and perhaps this will be less funny in the morning. But for now, this headline just cracks me up. It’s an article about gay sheep. The title? Brokeback Mutton.

Jonathan has posted a clip of a new comedy show on the FoxNews channel which has appeared on YouTube. He also includes several links to reviews of the new show. It’s apparently a FNC version of The Daily Show. If the clip is any indication of what the show will be like, they forgot one important piece of the formula used by The Daily Show: humor. Let’s just say the hosts are not quite in the same league with Jon Stewart. Or any other comedian. Or most average actors. Perhaps they’ll get better with time.

In a way it reminded me of some of what I see on Christian television networks (TBN, etc.) They often have shows that mimic mainstream shows, but the quality is far below their mainstream counterparts. I won’t say the gap is that wide between this show and TDS without seeing a full episode, but if this clip is any indication, it’s still quite a chasm.

The frightening thing is - it’s late. This may actually seem even less funny in the morning…if that’s possible.

FNC has done a fair amount of comedy before, although it was apparently unintentional. It seems that Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity are not actually attempting to make us laugh.

Of course, if you want to do comedy regarding Obama’s candidacy, The Daily Show is by far the better choice.
