I recently read an entertaining short story by Roald Dahl that got me thinking about writing. Dahl has always been one of my favorite writers. Most of his work is in children’s literature, but the stuff is so fantastic that adults love it as well. He doesn’t spin out fluffy stuff, either -- a lot of Dahl’s books are dark and occasionally morbid, in the tradition of Grimm’s Fair Tales.
