McCain campaign complained that media is not covering him before they complained that media is covering him . Another example of a debate between John McCain and John McCain ? Well, when you have a bad product, it is best not to have it reviewed. There is a reason why crappy movies are not shown to critics before they are released in theaters. McCain can win if he never ever shows up on TV between now and November. That way, many will be duped into thinking he was still the charming maverick he was back in....when was it, 19th century?
Not that media is actually slamming McCain like they always do with Democrats (remember how gleefully they went along with Dean Scream, Swift Boats, Edwards’ Haircut, Cackling Laughter of HIllary Clinton?) - they are just gently reporting on what he’s doing and saying. Or what his campaign is doing. And that is damning enough. As nobody really knows if McCain knows what his advisors are saying but says something differe...

Democrats may tax health benefits - The Boston Globe WASHINGTON - In the last month of the presidential campaign, it was one of Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s strongest attack lines: John McCain, they warned, would “tax your healthcare benefits for the first time ever.”But now, some Congressional Democrats in charge of health reform are talking about doing just that. ...

Welcome to Vichy America
This was not just another election. The last time we had a presidential election, the Left tried to get a brazen traitor elected - namely John Kerry. This new President from the Left is even more than that. Obama was no traitor, because he never was really on our side in the first place. Obama was really a foreign candidate - in spirit, funding, and citizenship.

Out in California, they recalled 143 million pounds of tainted beef. That’s one triple-stacked burger at Wendy’s. A hundred forty three million pounds of tainted beef! I believe that’s the largest amount of tainted meat since Roger Clemens.”

The Daily Planet has the scoop on what Minneapolitans need to know about education issues . School board candidates, a referendum on changing how school board members are elected ( Councilmember Cam Gordon says vote yes ), and a referendum on a property tax increase for school funding. I promise, you can stop all the cramming on candidates and issues in four days. Hang in there.
CM Gordon also had the deets on reorganization in the city government that will better engage residents on the nei...

How to make your personal opinion seem "popular" [Cognitive Daily]From: feeds.feedburner.com
Post Date: 2007-05-21 10:54:56
A fascinating study has just found that hearing one person’s opinion repeated is almost as effective as hearing several different people’s opinions.
Repeated exposure to one person’s viewpoint can have almost as much influence as exposure to shared opinions from multiple people. This finding shows that hearing an opinion multiple times increases the recipient’s sense of familiarity and in some cases gives a listener a false sense that an opinion is more widespread ...

So there I am, reading an amusing couple of local comics mocking the conservative media , and my name comes up. And my picture.
I must protest, it’s totally inaccurate . I would never get such a soul-satisfying introduction, and if I were on TV, I’d be sure to wear my best eyepatch, the one with the gold filigree. Read the comments on this post... ...

Al Jazeera’s conspiracy-mongering [denialism blog]From: feeds.feedburner.com

Has anyone else seen that Al Jazeera’s mainpage has a section devoted to conspiracy theories ? It prominently features 9/11 conspiracy garbage about WTC7 which has been debunked .
This is something that is neglected about 9/11 conspiracy mongering. When 9/11 denialists like William Rodriguez encourage anti-American sentiments in foreign countries by suggesting Islamic radicals weren’t behind the attacks it doesn’t do anyone any good. I’m not supportive ...
