Long before sites like The Sartorialist existed–in fact long before blogs existed at all–a Los Angeles exhibition focused on capturing raw, street style. 1973’s LA Flash ran for three months at the L.A. County Museum of Art and featured 400 images of stylish folks wearing unique fashions of the day. Now, the original exhibition is being brought back with a modern twist. Tomorrow night, as the original images are projected outdoors at the museum, attendees will be photographed for a style blog. L.A. fashionistas will surely dress for the occasion, not to be outdone by the 1973 images which, according to the LA Times, actually have a lot of relevance to what people are wearing today. Many of the original images, which have been digitally enhanced for the new showing, could have sprung from the latest issue of Vogue.
