Last week, when I was in Chicago, we also took a trip to Ikea and I picked up these three large scale prints.
I started looking at large scale fabrics with a whole new appreciation after being inspired by these images in some of my Japanese craft books. These first two images are from one of my favorite quiltmaking books by Yoshiko Jinzenji called “Simple Quilts” (ISBN 4-14-031137-1) which you can purchase from YesAsia.com here .
These quilts totally blew me away and made me look at so many fabrics with such a different attention and sensitivity to line and white space. They are so paired down and deliberate in the mark making.
