And the somewhat blissful end to having to watch political speech after political speech. I only caught Cindy’s and John’s speeches last night because I didn’t really care to hear anyone else on the docket speak. I though Cindy’s intro for John was nice, the RNCC played a video highlighting her life story and her humanitarian works and her speech focused more on the same topics. Nice gal, that Cindy.
Now for McCain’s speech. Let me start by saying I’ve never been a big fan of McCain speeches, the man just doesn’t come across well scripted. That being said, I though his speech was serviceable. Of course it didn’t have the pop of Palin’s speech, the only person who could have pulled that off would be Jesus. He did a good job of putting distance between himself and the Bush/GOP establishment, saying he works for the people and not a party. He talked about his POW experience more than I’ve ever seen him discuss it before, whi...

That Actually Isn’t A Half Bad IdeaFrom: beltwaysnark.com

Dave Barry came up with an excellent idea for a Florida re-vote; text balloting . Hey, if we can vote for every other major important decision this way (how would we have American Idol without text voting?) then why can’t the dumbass great people of Florida decide their Democratic candidate the same way? The only flaw I see in the plan is that I’m not sure if those Jitterbug phones can text, but if they can we’re good to go. Â

Here’s a fun fact from the Miami Herald; four months before the Spitzer scandal blew up, Roger Stone, the Republican operative everyone says is behind all this, sent a letter  to the FBI informing them that he had intel about Spitzer using call girls in Miami:
Almost four months before Gov. Eliot Spitzer resigned in a sex scandal, a lawyer for Republican political operative Roger Stone sent a letter to the FBI alleging that Spitzer ”used the services of high-priced call girls&...

And since when does anyone give a sh!t what they have to say? TMZ did an article on some former “Bachelor” douchebag who just got back  from a Navy mission recovering dead soldiers’ body parts. According to TMZ, sending beautiful people to do military duty is a huge waste of time and money:
Baldwin was among 20 military types who were on a search mission in the middle of the ocean. What, you ask, were they looking for? A B-24J bomber that went down during the war. No...

The third contractor in the the Passportgate mini-scandal, the one who hasn’t been fired, works for a firm  headed by one of Obama’s advisers.
The third employee, who has not been fired, worked for The Analysis Corporation (TAC), which is headed by John O. Brennan, a former CIA agent who is an adviser to Mr. Obama’s presidential campaign on intelligence and foreign policy.
So I ask, was it all a big conspiracy to smear Obama or a diversion form the Wright thing...
