Could $100 oil turn dumps into plastic mines? | Environment | Reuters
Sparked by surging oil, a dramatic rise in the value of old plastic is encouraging waste companies across the world to dig for buried riches in rotting rubbish dumps.
In Britain alone, experts say landfill sites could offer up an estimated 200 million tonnes of old plastic — worth up to 60 billion pounds at current prices — to be recovered and recycled, or converted to liquid fuel.

My dear friend, fellow ITP alum and protest buddy, Eric made this awesome site w/ some of his friends: www.quickcomic.com — a DIY cartoon application that has all types of characters necessary for a quick comic (har har).
Today, they were featured in the WSJ online as a Time Waster. So I made a comic to honor this occassion, and make up for not having posted about this way earlier… (I usually just jump bandwagons anyway…)

Thailand no longer plans to sue YouTube , it seems that the culture card worked out well in making Google cave in as it had agreed to remove all 12 clips cited by the Thai govt.
But, no, they haven’t lifted the ban. Might take a while yet.
