Lost FAT

I left an ISO disk with an imcomplete copy of Win XP in my disc drive and forgot it was there, so when it rebooted itself (yeah - ITSELF) It totally messed up my system. I now seem to have lost my FAT table for drive C. I was upgrading from Win 98. I put in the Emergency Boot Disk for Win 98, but it just tells me there is no FAT on the hard drive anymore. OK, so I loaded my Partition Magic rescue disks, and UNpartitioned Drive C, made it primary, and active - but it still won’t boot. :eek: I’ve tried Boot Magic also to no avail, nothing seems to be working. I really really don’t want to Fdisk, or Format, as I have a ton of mp3’s on this drive (2600) . and a moderate amount of backup. The programs I can re-load, not that big-a-deal, just LOTS of time wasted... :down: I had Norton Ghost, but I don’t think I have any recent backups...I know STUPID me! Need more INFO? I will gladly quick reply. nirvananow

gparted erkennt die Partitionierung leider auch nicht :-( die ganze Platte wird als unallocated angezeigt edit: Ich hab es auch mit Partition Magic 8 im Windows versucht. Doch das Programm lÃ¤sst sich nicht einmal starten :-s edit2: habe jetz nocheinmal...... more

acer travelmate problem

i own a acer travelmate 520 P3 notebook with around 780 MB of RAM, 30 GB HDD. 3 days ago when i switched it on, it got stuck at the acers splash screen (the first screen that you see). the choice and F12 appear. but the computer stays that way for 20 minutes b4 windows loads. the it works ok. but when i restart, it still takes 20 minutes to boot. even when i restart, it is the same. the notebook is running win xp. i havnt installed anything for a long time. only i use the note... more
