In Rock Creek Park, Washington DC, a man was busted for growing marijuana when a GPS equipped turtle roamed into his ganja patch. The guy thought he’d pull a fast one by actually using some of the park’s land for harvesting the illegal crop until the turtle’s tracks were followed by park rangers, ultimately leading to the man’s bust. What started as animal research just may lead to a new future for these hard shelled reptiles. I think I can smell another CSI spin off! So, what Who song should they use for the CSI: Turtles theme? A maintenance worker found a grenade near the Carter Barron Amphitheater in Rock Creek Park early this morning. There’s some confusion over whether the grenade is "live" or not -- the Post quotes a U.S. Park Police spokesperson as saying the grenade is genuine and not a toy, while WTOP has a source saying the grenade is live. An Army bomb squad is on the scene to deal with the device. 16th Street between Military Road and Colorado Avenue was closed for at least two hours this mor... more

Gaming stitchery continues to be the shizznit. These mini Pac-Man and foes were brought into the world by (obviously) Canadian flickr-er, EverySpoon , continuing to feed my bottomless pit of an appetite for game inspired crafts. I’m curious as to what exact count it is. Oh, excuse me. That was stitch geek talk. Source: technabob ... more
Cozy Rocks

Appropriately named, Livingstones are not genuine rocks, but rather soft cozy pillows. Definitely a job well done because holy moly, they look like rocks that are more than capable of doing great harm to you. Ranging in sizes from 6.1 inches to 6.6 feet, a group of these could fool anybody. As I was posting this picture, Coop stopped dead in his tracks by my desk, confused and scared, asking if they were in fact pillows. I have to admit myself, I get kind of uncomfortable looking at these... more

While yesterday marked the 1st year anniversary of the chaotic Mooninite events of Boston, Sean Stevens , half of the duo held responsible for posting illuminated Aqua Teen Hunger Force characters around the city of Boston, had this to say: “Hi, I’m Sean Stevens, From the infamous Mooninite Madness of 1-31-07. Unfortunately I’ve been totally buried in work and other things so I didn’t have a chance to “celebrate” the anniversary… But if you would... more
