It’s a time of transitions for many of us. And though change is an inevitable part of life, most of the time we’re left struggling and gasping for breath as change’s tidal wave washes over us.
I’m definitely not above it. There are plenty of times that I’m too caught up and comfortable mastering left when my life’s path unexpectedly veers right. Unforseen transitions can be difficult because we always want to be ready and we’re petrified that the dreaded state of uncertainties will leave us suffocated. Frantically, we attempt to pack our mental, emotional and spiritual suitcase with everything that we know in the present, in hope that all of it can help us on the new journey coming our way. But, there isn’t always time for all that and today’s truths isn’t always tomorrow’s.

I planned to teach the girls at the correctional facility a dance for Black history month. I planned to put in a lot of hours on my week off from work. I planned to vacation a little.
