The McCain campaign is defending crowd members at its recent rallies who have called Obama a terrorist, accused him of treason and even screamed "kill him" when his association with former Weather Underground member Bill Ayers has been broached.
"Barack Obama’s attacks on Americans who support John McCain reveal far more about him than they do about John McCain. It is clear that Barack Obama just doesn’t understand regular people and the issues they care about. He dismisses hardworking middle class Americans as clinging to guns and religion, while at the same time attacking average Americans at McCain rallies who are angry at Washington, Wall Street and the status quo," reads a statement from spokesman Brian Rogers. "Even worse, he attacks anyone who dares to question his readiness to serve as their commander in chief in chief. Raising legitimate questions about record, character and judgment are a vital part of the Democratic p...

... and the campaign knew it, since Davis’s salary was paid directly to the firm, which was also collecting $15,000 a month from Freddie Mac for providing, as far as the record shows, no services whatever, in a deal (shakedown) arranged by Davis personally.
Two lessons here:
1. The McCain campaign is a collection of crooks and liars. But that’s sort of dog-bites-man news by now.
2. The wheels are starting to come off; different factions in the campaign are now using the... more

Last night’s Hell to Pay fundraiser for Darcy Burner was a huge success. We started out with a goal of getting Darcy 3,200 donors...and we ended up with 3,643 , raising $ 25,262 ! And that total doesn’t even include the donations made to the entire slate of O2B candidates . Kudos to the community for coming together for one of our own. From DemFromCT: The tracking polls today include one full day (of three) that are post debate, and Obama is now at 50% in 3... more
You’ve seen the news:Capitol Hill sources are telling me that senior McCain people are more than concerned about Palin. The campaign has held a mock debate and a mock press conference; both are being described as "disastrous." One senior McCain aide was quoted as saying, "What are we going to do?" The McCain people want to move this first debate to some later, undetermined date, possibly never. People on the inside are saying the Alaska Governor is "clueless." Even some conservative writer... more
Democrats may tax health benefits - The Boston Globe WASHINGTON - In the last month of the presidential campaign, it was one of Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s strongest attack lines: John McCain, they warned, would “tax your healthcare benefits for the first time ever.”But now, some Congressional Democrats in charge of health reform are talking about doing just that. ... more

Welcome to Vichy America
This was not just another election. The last time we had a presidential election, the Left tried to get a brazen traitor elected - namely John Kerry. This new President from the Left is even more than that. Obama was no traitor, because he never was really on our side in the first place. Obama was really a foreign candidate - in spirit, funding, and citizenship.

Clear signs suggest that Obama’s press treatment is going to get rough, as the media begins to adopt GOP spin.
With Sen. Barack Obama now emerging as the Democratic front-runner, clear signs suggest that his press treatment will soon change and that the media will fall back into their routine of viewing — and critiquing — leading Democrats through the eyes of Republican spin.
Just last week, we s... more

Now that Barack Obama is closing in on the Democratic nomination, some are wondering whether the media will be tougher in their coverage. There’s a better question: is it possible to be any softer? The media writ large have been sounding like they’re covering a messiah more than a man. So was Hillary Clinton right to complain that Barack Obama has been more celebrated rather than vetted?
Let’s be clear. Hillary Clinton has been the beneficiary of so... more
