Several press reports, including this one from The Boston Globe (which is keeping a close eye on hometown prospect Mitt Romney), say John McCain will announce his vice presidential nominee Friday morning at a rally in Dayton, Ohio.
The New York Times and The Washington Post both report that McCain -- who has no public events scheduled today -- has already made up his mind.
Both papers say speculation centers on Romney and two others whose names have been kicked around for weeks: Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, a Democrat-turned-independent who was Al Gore’s running mate in 2000.
Meanwhile, a Washington Post-ABC News poll says McCain could lose up to 20 percent of his supporters if he failed to pick a hardline abortion opponent. This would seem to further dampen the prospects of Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison who, in the word of The Post, "opposes an abortion ban but votes consistently for anti-abortion legisl...

Welcome to Vichy America
This was not just another election. The last time we had a presidential election, the Left tried to get a brazen traitor elected - namely John Kerry. This new President from the Left is even more than that. Obama was no traitor, because he never was really on our side in the first place. Obama was really a foreign candidate - in spirit, funding, and citizenship.

The Boston terrier is a well-muscled and compact breed. This is not really surprising since the Boston terrier was first bred by people who wanted to use them in dog fights. Now some people may read all sorts of implications from such a violent past. Some people might think that the Boston terrier dog would make a bad pet because of its aggressive nature. However, you should know that as a pet, the Boston terrier can actually be pretty mild mannered.

The history of the Boston Terrier parallels the history of the new Americans descended from European colonists. In the 1800’s, new America was trying to find their own identity not only in their place in the world, but in their own homes. They wanted to take the best of the European dogs they were familiar with, but change it a bit to make the dog breed more American like they were. They wanted a companion in the home.

At the kickoff to the Smithsonian Institute’s Folklife Festival on the National Mall today, the governor admitted Bhutan Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck had "outbooted" him.
