ST. PAUL (Reuters) – Republicans John McCain and Sarah Palin kicked off a two-month battle for the White House on Friday with a promise that “change is coming,” a theme co-opted from their Democratic rivals.
McCain touted his credentials as a reformer and portrayed himself as the real agent of change in the race against Barack Obama as he accepted his party’s presidential nomination in an arena filled with supporters waving blue “Country First” signs.
“I don’t work for a party. I don’t work for a special interest. I don’t work for myself. I work for you,” McCain said in a speech that included only passing criticisms of Obama after a four-day convention marked by scathi...

The new McCain ad focusing on B. Hussein’s relationship with Bill Ayers. Easily one of the best ads so far.
The NRA has endorsed McCain . I would guess this is another benefit the mavericky Palin nomination has brought the campaign.

That is all that comes to mind when I heard Cindy McCain unleash yet another low blow attack on Obama while stumping in Pennsylvania. Funny how the campaign that kept screaming "leave families out of it" when it came to very valid discussion of Palin’s teenage pregnant daughter and abstinence only teaching is now using their children as political pawns. Here’s part of Cindy’s screed:

Democrats may tax health benefits - The Boston Globe WASHINGTON - In the last month of the presidential campaign, it was one of Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s strongest attack lines: John McCain, they warned, would “tax your healthcare benefits for the first time ever.”But now, some Congressional Democrats in charge of health reform are talking about doing just that. ... more

Welcome to Vichy America
This was not just another election. The last time we had a presidential election, the Left tried to get a brazen traitor elected - namely John Kerry. This new President from the Left is even more than that. Obama was no traitor, because he never was really on our side in the first place. Obama was really a foreign candidate - in spirit, funding, and citizenship.

Clear signs suggest that Obama’s press treatment is going to get rough, as the media begins to adopt GOP spin.
With Sen. Barack Obama now emerging as the Democratic front-runner, clear signs suggest that his press treatment will soon change and that the media will fall back into their routine of viewing — and critiquing — leading Democrats through the eyes of Republican spin.

Now that Barack Obama is closing in on the Democratic nomination, some are wondering whether the media will be tougher in their coverage. There’s a better question: is it possible to be any softer? The media writ large have been sounding like they’re covering a messiah more than a man. So was Hillary Clinton right to complain that Barack Obama has been more celebrated rather than vetted?
Let’s be clear. Hillary Clinton has been the beneficiary of so... more
