Manny Ramirez putting the Dodgers on his back is the best story in baseball. Sports Illustrated noticed by putting him on this week’s cover while explaining Manny’s nuanced hitting genius . This is HIS time, and he is THE story. That is… until Tim McCarver pulled a John McCain this week, and changed the subject with negative campaigning. There is a history of “McCarver Being McCarver” that has included head-scratching in-game statements , god-awful analogies , and past personal run-ins with players (see Deion Sanders).
