Love him or hate him, Michael Moore is a cultural force to be reckoned with. Films like Roger & Me, Bowling for Columbine, and Sicko have garnered the man a plus-sized share of both fans and detractors, and now Moore is giving back --just in time for the 2008 election.
The documentary filmmaker announced that his latest film, Slacker Uprising, will debut for free on the Web on September 23rd, via Blip.TV . A DVD release of the film will follow on Amazon and Netflix, October 7th.
"This is being done entirely as a gift to my fans," Moore said of the film. "The only return any of us are hoping for is the largest turnout of young voters ever at the polls in November. I think Slacker Uprising will inspire million [sic] to get off the couch and give voting a chance."
The film follows Moore’s tour of 62 cities ahead of the 2004 elections. Content suppressed by ://URLFAN, for full article visit source

Funny thing about that--you’re not actually supposed to reply to those, no matter how frustrated you might be about getting list spam or the goods that said e-mail might be promoting. Not only that, there’s a good likelihood that the address doesn’t even belong to the sender at all.
Nope, all those e-mail replies (and there are, as you can imagine, quite a few) land in the inbox of one Chet ... more TorrentSpy Closes Doors after Copyright BattleFrom: appscout.com Post Date: 2008-03-27 13:57:36 Mark another win for the man. TorrentSpy, one of the Web’s most popular BitTorrent trackers, has been forced to close it doors forever, after going up against the MPAA .
In December, a Los Angeles court ruled against the tracker, after TorrentSpy destroyed evidence, which, according to the site, was an attempt to protect its users’ privacy. A judge in the suit impost a hefty $30,000 fine against the torrent tracker.
Earlier in the week the site’s founder, Justin Bunnell ... more
