Here’s some notes from late last night and this morning:
Over on the football site, we have a Quick Hit looking at Lee Evans. Click here to take a look.
According to Troy E. Renck of The Denver Post (click here for the article) Todd Helton is still hoping to return this season from his “irritated disc in his back”. He has begun taking groundballs and could hit off a tee tomorrow. Time will tell, but I wouldn’t hold out too much hope that he comes back. Still, it’s worth keeping him stashed just in case.
In a separate article (click here ), Renck is reporting that Matt Herges will begin a rehab stint at Triple A this weekend. No big deal for fantasy owners.
In the same article, Renck notes that the Rockies could recall Franklin Morales and Casey Weathers, among others, after September 1. Both have potential, though I’m not sure if they will get a chance to start this season. It certainly is worth monitoring both ...

Quick Hit: Chad BillingsleyFrom: rotoprofessor.com
Post Date: 2008-02-26 03:37:39
Chad Billingsley started last season off in the bullpen, but once he got the chance to start he certainly made the most of it. He made 20 starts, going 8-5 with a 3.38 ERA and 101 K’s, terrific numbers. His biggest problem is his control, as he walked 64 batters in 147 innings, good enough for 3.92 walks per 9 innings, a number that is going to make it impossible for him to put up a good WHIP.
Hopefully he can correct for his control, but I don’t see a major improvement happenin...

I got some good feedback about yesterday’s Quick Hit debut, so I thought it would be fun to try something a little different today. Today will be a Quick Hit Marathon featuring six different pitchers. They will be posted throughout the day, so make sure you keep checking back for the latest. I hope everyone enjoys. If the feedback is good on this, we will do it again. Things will return to normal tomorrow with a new Ask the Experts. ...

This is a new feature I will be doing on occasion here on the site in the afternoons. It will not be everyday. It’s just going to be a quick projection for a player for the 2008 season. Nothing fancy, just the facts. The series gets kicked off looking at Roy Halladay.
Roy Halladay has been the model of consistency the past two seasons. He’s not over-powering and will not pile up the strikeouts, but he’s going to provide your team an above average WHIP and ERA while chipping ...
