Shaun Murphy breezed into his sixth semi-final of a superbly consistent season by hammering Joe Perry 5-0 in only 69 minutes.
Murphy, aiming to lift his second trophy in as many weeks after triumphing at the Malta Cup on Sunday, was again in top-notch form.
The 2006 world champion dominated the exchanges from the outset.
Murphy seized command with breaks of 60, 66, 108 and 84 to lead 4-0 at the mid-session interval.
Perry had the opportunity to at least avoid the ignominy of a whitewash but, poised to poach the fifth frame, missed the last red down the side cushion.
It was to be his last shot as Murphy cleared the colours to stretch his winning streak to nine matches.
“We do all these long hours of practice and when everything falls into place it’s a nice feeling,” said Murphy, runner-up in the 2006 Welsh Open.
