WASHINGTON, March 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Most Baby Boomers
underestimate their risk of suffering a disability that would cause them to
miss work for an extended period of time, according to a new survey
conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of America’s Health Insurance
Plans (AHIP). The survey also found that Baby Boomers are unaware of the
most common causes of disability and are not too concerned about their risk
of becoming disabled.
“Baby Boomers’ lack of awareness of their risk of disability presents a
significant threat to their financial security,” said Karen Ignagni,
President and CEO of AHIP. “When individuals underestimate their risk of
disability, they are less likely to protect their income and are more
vulnerable to the financial hardship that suffering a disability can
cause.”

A recent Jobfox survey that polled 200 recruiters on employee performance revealed some highly debatable results.
The survey revealed that only 20 percent of the recruiters said that Gen Y, the workforce’s youngest members, are “generally great performers,” as opposed to 63 percent in favor of the Baby Boomers’ performance in the workplace.

A PET cockatiel was beheaded because it had been “singing too
much”, a cat was hung by a leash, another cat was put in a
microwave and other pets were shot, stabbed, kicked and thrown.
As horrific as these stories are, what is worse is the fact that
the men who abused animals like this were also harming their own
loved ones.
And the fear that pets will be harmed means one in three women
delay leaving an abusive relationship.
