High school sports participation increased for the 19th consecutive year , according to a study by the National Federation of State High School Associations. ESPN announced it has been working with videogame developer Electronic Arts to produce a new technology that will allow sports anchors to interact with life-like videogame graphics. The move is just one more example of the evolution of new media. Videogames on TV. TV broadcasts on the Internet. Live blogging of sporting events. The lines between "traditional" and "new" media are getting increasingly blurry and it makes us wonder, how long before all media--especially sports coverage--becomes multi-platform?
