If the McCain campaign selected Sarah Palin because they hoped the move would draw attention away from Obama, then…mission accomplished. Palin’s selection has been a news story with a magnitude that rivals a Category 5 hurricane. And so, it was with great anticipation that the nation tuned in to watch her substantive entry onto the national stage — last night’s speech at the Republican National Convention. If you were tuning into her speech to see her stumble, you were disappointed. But I would argue that, if you were tuning into her speech to watch her demonstrate that she’s someone who is worthy of our nation’s #2 executive position, then you were also disappointed.
