As I’ve mentioned before, once you get quite a few photos on your hard drive, it becomes quite a task to manage them all, let alone find that one photo you are looking for.
For awhile I used Google’s Picasa , which is a great photo organizer, but the interface kept confusing my tiny brain, it was like it had too many features.
That’s when I sort of by accident stumbled on Microsoft’s Windows Live Photo Gallery who’s simplicity is just what my small brain needed.
Reasons Why I Now Use Windows Live Photo Gallery
1. It’s in my “autoplay” list when I plug my media card into my computer.
2. It imports both photos and videos from my media card (we’ve been doing more with our camera’s video feature lately).
3. When it imports, by default, it puts files in your “My Pictures” folder grouped in folders based on the date the pictures were taken (it also names the files by date/time as well). Makes it easier to d...

I heard a great quote on NPR the other week that really stuck with me. They were interviewing someone on the popularity of Guinness and the interviewer made the point that it’s popularity is surprising in America because for most it’s an acquired taste. To which the man being interviewed made the point that basically acquiring the taste is half the fun and hence the popularity is in a sense from people learning to enjoy Guinness .
