Or what do you think of a Cell enhanced laptop that cost more than a fortune and is most likely not really supported by any decent software. Ok, one thing after the other. As we all know,  Toshiba is one of the stakeholders of the Cell Broadband Engine beside IBM and Sony. As Sony decided recently due to their enormous loss within several of their business units to refocus its businesses, the Cell got totally transfered to Toshiba and IBM for the most parts. Sony is no longer a partner in crime when it comes to further develop the Cell chip. Sony is just a Cell customer these days. So, looking at the current customer base for the Cell processor, you mainly have Sony with its PLAYSTATION 3, IBM with its Blades where the Cell is used as a high performance massive parallel computer and finally Toshiba, who wants to use the Cell more and more in forthcoming consumer electronics like TV sets and set-top boxes. Now, we hear that Toshiba is pushing the Cell technology as part of another...

If we could eventually go back in time and test one of those early PS3 models and would compare it to the most current firmware today, the difference would be hugh. What the PS3 has gained over time due to those numerous firmware updates is just amazing. And I am not yet talking about the forthcoming 2.40 firmware which will most likely bring new features like in-game XMB and trophies.   It's been quite a long time since I got my first Lego set, but I still remember as if it was yesterday. I used to have wooden boxes to put all the Lego blocks in and it was always part of the fun to sort all the various blocks into the appropriate places. An amazing toy, since 50 years this is every boys dream.
