Well, it’ll be interesting to see what Colt Brennan can do here, but I don’t suspect we’ll be seeing another fourth quarter rally. For some reason the Panthers are using the older Redskins logo — the one with the tucked-under feathers — on their local broadcast, and it’s driving me slowly insane for no real reason. The news on Jason Taylor sounds generally good, as they’re still saying sprain. I suppose it’s a good thing that the legendary Dr. James Andrews is in the house tonight. I do wonder who the second best orthopedic surgeon is, and how they know that he’s still the top. Interesting discussion in the truck toward the end of the game: what would the Play of the Game be? Some people felt like it should be a Redskins play despite the brutally lopsided score, but even the people championing that point of view couldn’t come up with many suggestions. On the Field for Practice - 10/22
From: theredskinsblog.com
Post Date: 2008-10-22 13:17:43

Coach Zorn mentioned after practice that we’re entering “the mundane part of the season” — after the big start and before anyone is really in playoff push mode. His point, of course, is that he wants the team not to treat it that way, and he started practice off with a huddle to remind them of just that. “Coach Zorn didn’t want to come out flat, that’s all it was,” Lorenzo Alexander told me afterward. “He was warning us before we got ... more
More On Icing The Kicker

Photo by Darren Hester via Wikimedia Commons During his press conference yesterday, Coach Zorn made a reference to looking at the statistics on icing the kicker. I linked to an Esquire article that seemed to indicate that, essentially, icing the kicker was bad. I realize that Esquire isn’t exactly JAMA , but I figured that it was sufficient to shore up Zorn’s point and provide a readable link on the subject. I knew it probably wasn’t the kind of statistical ana... more
Wednesday, November 5: On The Bye Week
From: pass3r.com

After a grueling training camp full of two-a-days, five preseason games, and more than half of the regular season in the books, it’s finally time for the bye week. Coach Zorn gave the players almost the whole week off, and I figured some of these guys must have interesting plans for their rare...... more

Inside Redskins Park: Changing Up the Studio
From: theredskinsblog.com
Post Date: 2008-08-05 14:42:54

Walking past the Redskins.com TV studio today, which is pretty central to the top floor of Redskins Park, I noticed that they were in the process of changing over the background pictures from the existing two-tone images to full-color ones. The new photo, bottom, replaces the signed one. What’s most interesting about this, unless you’re very into the interior design of TV studios, is that the existing two-tone picture in the image above has been signed by a number of the ... more

The NFL officially announced their Fan Code of Conduct today, and I find it pretty interesting. “The National Football League and its teams are committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for all fans, both in the stadium and in the parking lot. We want all fans attending our games to enjoy the experience in a responsible fashion. When attending a game, you are required to refrain from the following behaviors: Behavior that is unruly, disruptive, or illegal in... more
Making Monk’s Case: Talking to David Elfin

You may have heard that Art Monk was enshrined in the Hall of Fame this weekend, and that he had something of a long wait to get there. It’s been frustrating for Monk’s many fans, but very few people could do anything about it. David Elfin could. David Elfin at work in the press room. For the last two years, as the Washington area selector for the Hall, Elfin has been the one making Monk’s case before the Board of Selectors. This year, he was successful, whic... more

Rich Tandler looks at S Chris Horton’s performance Sunday night in light of the Schweigert cut. HailRedskins.com shows the pictures of the Monk and Green HOF busts , which is nice for me since all I got to see when I was there were empty pedestals. Place bronze Art Monk head here. And Dr. Z at SI.com visits the training camp of Saturday’s opponent , the Buffalo Bills. ... more
