I enjoyed the semifinalist submission by the couple who live in the mister’s grandparents’ home which they purchased after his grandparents passed away in order to keep the home in the family. The couple gives a grand tour of their older home which includes window sills with chipping lead paint, asbestos flooring, gaudy wallpaper, and worn out, stained, and outdated wall-to-wall carpet. The couple goes on to describe the smell of their home as being a mixture of old people and hospital smell as both grandparents died in the home.
Finally, the husband pleads with Renuzit to help them out as they are first-time homeowners and have no idea what they are doing. He goes onto say that he fears if something is not done soon, his wife will most likely just throw in the towel and paint all the walls white.
They finish by saying they’d prefer to remember the grandparents for the positive things rather than the current reminders that surround them.
