The Sons of Confederate Veterans who George Allen has supported in the past, no longer supports George Allen. They say it is because Allen no longer supports the Confederate flag. They also say George Allen is dis-associating for political reasons, including his current political problems, in order that he can get re-elected and to go on to become the President of the United States.
African American political Pundit says: I wonder if the Confederate Group is no longer supporting George Allen because he is Jewish and segregationist organizations have felt for a long time, that being Jewish is just a bad as being black?
I guess that is why George Allen refused to acknowledge Jewish roots.
Check out what his former confederate buddies have to say now about George Allen:

IT seems like a century ago now, but it was only in 2005 that a National Journal poll of Beltway insiders predicted that George Allen, then a popular Virginia senator, would be the next G.O.P. nominee for president. George who? Allen is now remembered, if at all, as a punch line....

Obviously these men are better dressed than they ever had been during their war when the Confederate uniforms were nominally gray, and later "butternut" but sometimes ended up being whatever you could find or even scrounge off of dead bodies. I wonder how many of our images of Confederate soldiers and how they dressed come from seeing images like this and the studio portraits that the young men going off to war had taken rather than the reality of th...

There may still be a couple of Confederate widows among us but it's their choice to remain in anonymity. Maude Hopkins was the last one publicly known. She died Aug. 17 2008.
