Before she has even had time to brush the dust off of her shoes after leaving the campaign trail, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-New York) is in the news again. This time for her reaction to the Salmonella Saintpaul outbreak that has sickened over 1200 people. As most people know, particularly those who ordered a BLT last month and got a BL, the FDA initially believed tomatoes were the source of the outbreak. Monday, the FDA announced that one jalapeno pepper sample had a positive genetic match with the outbreak-strain of Salmonella Saintpaul. A recall of jalapeno peppers was issued; restaurants quit using raw jalapeno and serano peppers; and Hillary (hereinafter referred to as Senator Clinton) wrote a letter. In her letter to Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach, FDA Commissioner, Senator Clinton expressed concern about the FDA’s inability to localize the source of the Salmonella Saintpaul outbreak, saying “despite the work of investigators from yo...

We have known for weeks that President-elect Obama was going to offer the Secretary of State position to Senator Hillary Clinton. In the official announcement today , Obama has laid those rumors to rest, but has intensified another round of questioning; why would Obama offer this prime post to his formal rival?
As I pondered this question, my thoughts became centered on “The Prince” by Niccolo Machiavelli, not on the overused phraseology of “the end justifies the meansR... more
I received this flier in the mail the other day from the North Carolina Republican State Executive Committee.
Clinton and McCain look like they’re in love, judging by the cover, and the copy is just adulatory:
“With intensity and hard work, she left 18 million cracks in the glass ceiling”
and, on the inside,
“I share Senator Clinton’s goal of promoting women to more important roles throughout our government. By the end of my first time, I promise yo... more

The outcome of the election was not a surprise. A Dem win by either Senator Clinton or Obama became a near fait accompli the moment McCain clinched the nomination in a year in which the economy was the dominant issue for the electorate. The real shocker would have been a McCain upset.
But like many other [...]... more

Not long ago, a number of foreign-policy progressives in the Obama orbit vented to me about how they were concerned Hillary Rodham Clinton would shut them out of State Dept. jobs in favor of her own people. It wasn’t really an idle concern: several remember how the Clinton people unsutbly warned Democrats during the primaries not to back Obama, because Clinton would inevitably win the nomination and the presidency, and they’d be frozen out. So let’s say, for the sake of argu... more

I have two HR20 700s. For about the past month or so, before x290, both units have been locking up showing an alternating snowy white, then all black picture. It switches back and forth about every two seconds and the unit doesn’t respond to the remote or the controls on the front panel. I have to do a hard reboot.

Interest rates are plummeting - but so is the economy. If you are one of the thousands who may lose their job in the next few months, will you be covered by mortgage payment protection insurance policies? And if you think your job is at risk, can you still buy protection? The answer to the latter question is a straight forward yes. If you have an inkling that your job is not secure, it could be time to buy a PPI policy, though not one of the extremely expensive policies sold by lenders. ... more
