Please join me on Tuesday September 30 from 5PM to 7PM at the Celtic Bayou Cafe and Irish Pub in Redmond for September’s Agile Beer Night! We don’t yet have a topic for discussion or a guest presenter, but please stay tuned... Do you practice Agile software development? Do you want to? It’s open to all, so please come join us, have a pint, and discuss Agile Development! Tell two friends, and then bring them along! ¡ vivan los agilistas ! P.S. Please let me know if you are able to attend by adding a comment, so that I can let the establishment know how many people to expect. P.P.S. For those of you who are in Seattle, there is a direct bus, the Sound Transit 545 that runs very frequently all evening, and has a stop in Redmond literally across the street from the pub. That makes it really easy and no driving and parking! Plus then you can have an extra pint! Bonus!

Shocked? What are you, having a whack-attack or something? Give them a little credit, dumdum. Sound Transit hadn't proved themselves when we voted on Sound Move, but that's only two years past their initial plan. California's HSR is giving themselves a three-year window to get just an initial segment done. I think they can get at least something up by then. At the very least, we can agree that this truly isn't glacial pace, because even the fastest glaciers move less than 5... more

From: feeds.gothamistllc.com

The Seattle Times says Sound Transit Proposition 1 "retards our economy" and "hurts the poor" by boosting Washington’s sales tax to 9.5% , an unconscionable hike when "most people don’t want to get out of their cars." The Stranger says Prop. 1 is a great idea, and "If you think $69 is a lot to spend on transit in tough economic times, think about what you’ve been paying for gas lately." King County Exec Ron Sims is opposed and would prefer that we wait until 2010 . But w... more
