What was he thinking? Joe Biden? Where’s the “change” in that choice?
I can’t wait to see how the MSM tries to spin this as another brilliant move by The One. Just yesterday I read a wire report (sorry, but can’t find it today) exclaiming that The Messiah’s use of suspense and new media regarding his veep choice was an example of his masterful showmanship. Riiiight.
How masterful was it that the vaunted text message went out at 4:50 a.m., when most of the new-age hip kids were either passed out or actually asleep after their night of hip clubbing.
Imagine them all in the bars of New York waiting breathlessly for the message, and it not coming. “Man, it’s 4 o’clock. I’m going home.” And then getting up this morning and learning the choice. “What, Joe fargin’ Biden, the ultimate insider? He’s been in the Washington longer that McCain, fer cryin’ out loud. What’s up with that?...

Bipartisan Group Determines Threat of Losing Your Job Not Bleak Enough This Holiday Season, Decides To Add Nuclear Annihilation and Mass Hemorrhaging To Mix
The U.S. can expect a nuclear attack or the old Dustin Hoffman movie Outbreak to become reality by the year 2013 according to the findings of a bi-partisan panel headed by Vice-President-elect Joe Biden.

Joe Biden got up to the microphones today and made me laugh (Jake Tapper has the video) , since the press won’t print what he says, for today I will, he said a lot of things I concur with and hope to see made into reality:
BIDEN: Well, Governor, thank you very much.
Ed, thanks for setting this up. Ed Rendell and ... more
Days before elections Joe Biden, the Vice-President-elect, told campaign donors: “Watch, we’re going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle [of Obama].” Did Joe Biden really have in mind al-Qaeda?

... and the campaign knew it, since Davis’s salary was paid directly to the firm, which was also collecting $15,000 a month from Freddie Mac for providing, as far as the record shows, no services whatever, in a deal (shakedown) arranged by Davis personally.
Two lessons here:
1. The McCain campaign is a collection of crooks and liars. But that’s sort of dog-bites-man news by now.
2. The wheels are starting to come off; different factions in the campaign are now using the... more

Last night’s Hell to Pay fundraiser for Darcy Burner was a huge success. We started out with a goal of getting Darcy 3,200 donors...and we ended up with 3,643 , raising $ 25,262 ! And that total doesn’t even include the donations made to the entire slate of O2B candidates . Kudos to the community for coming together for one of our own. You’ve seen the news:Capitol Hill sources are telling me that senior McCain people are more than concerned about Palin. The campaign has held a mock debate and a mock press conference; both are being described as "disastrous." One senior McCain aide was quoted as saying, "What are we going to do?" The McCain people want to move this first debate to some later, undetermined date, possibly never. People on the inside are saying the Alaska Governor is "clueless." Even some conservative writer... more

I used to love Halloween. My kids would dress in theme costumes and we’d head out into our neighborhood, Durham’s Trinity Park, to meet, greet and scare up treats. The haunted house that used to be an annual affair on Watts Street is long gone. But I still think if there were a prize for the best trick-or-treating street in America it would be Monmouth Avenue.
The kids are grown now and, after several years of doing the treat thing, I now keep the light off. Blogger extraordina... more
