This general theme makes “Run Fatboy Run” into a bit too much of a moral lesson of perseverance than a comedy. And for someone as cynical as myself, his token determination wa... more

This weekend features many new releases. All appealing to different audiences. Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist to teens, Blindness and Flash of Genius to art-house types, How To Lose Friends and Alienate People to Simon Pegg fans. And An American Carol and Beverly Hills Chihuahua to McCain voters. But what will come out on top? Sadly enough, I’m predicting Beverly Hills Chihuahua for the win. With the Walt Disney marketing machine behind it and the widest release, it’s a ... more

When most kids go to college, they go to live their parents’ dreams of becoming a lawyer or a doctor.  Sometimes they form terrible bands that they take way too seriously and play in nasty little bars. MGMT (pronounced Management) didn’t. Ever.   Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser met and formed the duo while studying music in college.  MGMT would often play at the college dorms, but usually played covers.  By that I mean they would only play the Ghostbus... more
