Snail Mail is an envelope addressing and printing application which interacts directly with the Address Book database in Mac OS X 10.2 or higher. It’s primary function is to quickly address and print single or multiple envelopes based on entries in the Mac OS X Address Book database. Batches of envelopes can be based on Address Book groups, or ad-hoc lists selections of addresses. Snail Mail can print barcodes for more efficient mail handling.Snail Mail can also be used to print address lists which the Address Book cannot do in Mac OS X 10.2.x.There are already several envelope applications available for Mac OS X, but I wrote this one when I found that none suited my needs.
Macworld (USA edition) Reviewed Snail Mail as one of the 75 best low-cost programs for the Mac and gave it a 4 mouse rating. On the same page, in a review of a competing product MacWorld says, “If you have a large mailing list, use Snail Mail … instead”.
