Yesterday I was finally able to get hardy to install properly. Thus I have not had the opportunity to develop 0.8 for hardy. Fortunately tomorrow is my last final so I will be able to focus on getting 0.8 out the door after that. It will probably not have all the nifty stuff at first, but I will add that in updates to it. My major goal is hardy support and lxde before the initial release.

Ubuntulite 0.8 is ready for initial testing but is not ready to replace the older versions yet. This new release now features LXDE. It looks to use about 56MB of ram without using swap and uses 775MB of hard drive space. It is only released for Ubuntu 8.04 LTS at this time. The repository is at http://download.tuxfamily.org/ubuntulite/nouveau and has the components main and lxde. After it undergoes some testing, I will update the install script. ... more

We already know the goals for the 0.8 release , but where is it? Here is the great news. It will be the first Ubuntulite/RULE release so we can get the merging of our project underway and it will be the first release based on 8.04. But the bad news is that it will be coming shortly after the official release of 8.04. Thus I would like everyone to have their input about the LXDE idea in the next few days to decide if that is the direction UL should go in. read more ... more

I would like to say that the bulk of updates are completed and should now be considered RC2. The major new feature with RC2 is the creation of a live CD that features an install feature that does not require the network! Note this CD is marked beta because it is still in the process of being improved.
