It’s probably safe to say that Asus’ Eee PC family includes a reasonably large amount of models currently but, as a slide shot provided by Engadget Chinese reveals, we’re just seeing the tip of the iceberg. In addition to the 700, 900 and 1000 series Eee PCs, Asus plans on releasing six more versions with all of them set to target two additional market segments.
While all current Eee PCs are going for the “Smart Casual” look, the upcoming portable PCs are included in the “PRO Fashion” and “Ultimate” categories. The ‘fashionable’ models are the 1000HV, 1002SA, 1002HA and T101 with a decent guess being that all will have 10-inch LCD screens with at least the 1000HV and 1002HA being equipped with hard drives. The ‘Ultimate’ models prepped by Asus are the S101 and S91 and they are supposed to be the MacBook Air of the netbook world due to their light weight and slim body. This week kicked off quite nicely with the release of the WHQL-ed GeForce 175.19s and now it continues with the online invasion of the GeForce 177.40 beta drivers. Sourced by the guys @ XFastest , the GeForce 177.40s are dated June 16 and come with support for the GeForce 6, 7, 8 and 9 series cards, the recently-introduced GeForce GTX 280 and 260s and a few more, yet unreleased, 9 generation and GT200-powered cards.

One of the things that irritates me about iPhone ownership is how my computer speakers buzz whenever the phone gets too close. Looking back in history, we notice that ATI’s first reaction to multi-GPU was negative, but the company followed suit with Crossfire and now the company is preaching about advantages of smaller GPUs instead of large monolithic dies.
